New possibilities and applications in water and effluent handling are created by the introduction of "Oloid" technology. The latest product in the Oloid range, the Oloid 600, was launched in May 2000. This 600 mm long Oloid is a deep agitator which utilises the energy of the water flow so efficiently that it needs only 1 Kw to bring the water in a whole tank, right down to the bottom, into motion.
The impulse agitation technique in combination with other techniques makes new space, cost and energy saving applications possible. Moreover, a very large area is put in motion so that sunken sludge is loosened, even in the dead corners. Oloid 600 is also highly suitable for the creation of artificial waves in sea aquaria. This prevents algae growth on the underwater observation windows, keeps living coral in motion and prevents soiling. The Oloid 600 also has industrial applications. It introduces oxygen to organic percolation water. This reduces the strong odour of this water and ensures a natural reduction in oxygen uptake, so that less is discharged. The water is then suitable for use in sprinklers.
