6. Flametech Benelux

Flametech Benelux produce and distribute the bio-flame retardant products FR120 (for textile), FR130 (for carpets) FR140 (for other materials like timber and paper) and FR150 (foam blowing agent). Flametech products FR120 and FR140 have a double effect: they inhibit and extinguish the seat of the fire and at the same time impregnate the immediate surroundings of the fire preventing its further spread.
The world of electronics has been searching for some time for products to protect electrical distribution boards and switch boards from fire. Up until July 1999, Halon 1211 was the market leader among inert gases for the fire protection of electrical installations. This product is exceptionally efficient, but also very aggressive and damaging to the environment. More and more European countries would therefore like to ban Halon.
Flametech's bioproducts offer a solution. They are environmentally friendly and completely biodegradable. They are also odourless, colourless and have a neutral pH value. They are 100% non-toxic and non-irritating to the shin and eyes. They can be applied without difficulty (by spraying, brushing, submersion or impregnation) to textiles, paper, plaster-board, plastic or other flammable or partly flammable materials. The products can therefore be used with ease to protect new and existing items against fire. An existing hotel for instance can rapidly and effectively improve its fire protection. FR140 can be directly injected into timber, so that historic buildings with a preponderance of timber in the construction can be thoroughly protected.
