With their Ecolo PackTM system De Neef Specialities aim to re-write the rules for recycling and recovering chemical products. Until now, businesses have obtained their solvents from a particular supplier, and after use the contaminated solvents and thinners would be collected by a recognised collector before being incinerated by a recognised waste processor. De Neef Specialities want to re-design this whole cycle. They will simplify the logistics, re-think the physical distribution and re-cycle the contaminated product.In the Ecolo PackTM system the thinners and solvents are reconditioned. After purification the quality of the product is brought back up to standard by adding new active ingredients, thereby avoiding the incineration of products. De Neef Specialities are therefore setting up a sort of solvent leasing, an exchange system where they deliver new or recycled Ecolo Pack thinnerTM, at the same time collecting the used thinners. The client enjoys a complete service in this way. The system has been introduced with success to around 50 distribution businesses in the automobile sector since September 1999. The service will be introduced to the manufacturing sector at Ifest.
