Visit Ifest ...
... to find out all about pollution prevention (PP)

Informative

To produce waste and afterwards having to dispose of it is a waste of effort. That is why pollution prevention (PP) is a hot item: to prevent is better than to cure! Nowadays, many companies resent emissions and pollution. Moreover, it is the one spot in your production chain where a lot of money can be saved. This was a good enough reason for the organisers, together with OVAM, STIP, GOM West-Vlaanderen and ecoTips, to make this the main theme at Ifest 2002.

Get inspired by the PP Island stands

At Ifest, you will find three PP island stands. They show several realized PP projects that have proven a big success, both from an environmental as from an economic point of view. As it is always useful to learn from others, we give the opportunity to evaluate PP techniques and methods and learn how they fit in the hustle and bustle of everyday business.

On the PP islands, you will find 5 practical examples, based on each of the following topics:

  • rational energy use
  • rational water use
  • waste prevention
  • waste water treatment and prevention
  • prevention of air emissions and odour pollution
  • environmentally-oriented product development
  • environment-friendly packaging
  • process-integrated environmental measures
  • environment, mobility and environmental communication

The exhibitors compete for the glory, you profit from their efforts: the PP Award.

The winner and the nominees for the PP Award will be exhibiting their innovative projects. You will have the opportunity to take a close look at the prize-winners, and emulate their success in your business.
