This edition, special attention is devoted to Pollution Prevention (PP), an initiative of OVAM, STIP, GOM and EcoTips. This topic is very much in the news in the sector and Ifest has responded to the demand and interest of its visitors.

Recognisable islands are set up as a leitmotiv in the different halls of the fair, where practical examples of successful PP projects, techniques and methods are featured.
In particular, the environmental technology and economic advantages are showcased. The islands are built round the following topics:

Ifest rewards environmental efficiency with the PP Award

Ifest 2002 crowns the most deserving pollution prevention project of the past two years. The innovative value of the project also plays a great role in the assessment. Have you made extra efforts as an exhibitor to tackle your waste flows and emissions at the source and/or have you participated in such pollution prevention projects as a supplier? Then let us know, and you will have an opportunity to bag the Ifest 2002 PP Award. A committee of experts from the academic world, industry and the press will evaluate all the entries, and will single out the most purposive and innovative. All projects realised after January 1 2000 qualify for consideration.
